HISTORY
Tropical Research Services and its network of field-team operations have their origins at a large tropical commodity trade-house, where Steve Wateridge served as the Head of Cocoa and Coffee Research. In 2006, Mr. Wateridge formed a tropical commodity research unit at a large US asset-management company ("the Company"), in order to serve the tropical commodity research needs of the Company and certain associated commodity asset-management companies (the Associates) and a large member of the tropical commodity industry, based in Europe.
Tropical Research Services was spun-out of the Company in 2009, as an independent third-party research provider. Tropical Research Services continues to serve the Company, the Associates and the same large European tropical commodity industry player.
Since that time, Tropical Research Services has added a number of new clients, mostly in similar disciplines.
